As successful Black community leaders, they saw the discouraging statistics and the real need for struggling Black-owned businesses to get the resources they need for long-term success. They recognized the need for a revenue ecosystem within the Black community, to help grow inclusive generational wealth building through business ownership. Black Capital Foundation was born out of the idea that – as a society – when we invest more capital into minority-owned businesses, we increase their ability to be sustainable long term and add long-term value to our community in a wide variety of ways. Successful businesses boost local economies and keep resources within the community that create a ripple effect of impact. Wanting to make a change, give back, pay forward their personal successes, and make a long-term impact on a community that they care deeply about, the team went to work to develop an economic pipeline that gives everyone an opportunity to succeed in business.

How We Got Started

It’s a sad reality that Black-owned businesses continue to be significantly underfunded. We aim to fix that. Black Capital Foundation is a fund focused on investing in Black-owned business owners.

Our mission and founding inspiration is centered around our team who work across government and corporate business. As successful Black community leaders, they saw the discouraging statistics and the real need for struggling Black-owned businesses to get the resources they need for long-term success. They recognized the need for a revenue ecosystem within the Black community, to help grow inclusive generational wealth building through business ownership.
